The waiting was special but the screening was even better. As you can imagine, over a thousand rabid Star Wars fans sitting in the same room, ready to see the next chapter in the saga, was electric. The moment when the Jedi stormed the Geonosian arena, every single person jumped out of their seats. Minutes later, when Yoda ignited his lightsaber, it felt like the entire room shook. I left that theater on such a high that, despite having to be up at 8 a.m. for graduation, I seriously contemplated seeing the film again at 3:30 a.m.
However, in the years that followed, Attack of the clones lost some luster. The memory of waiting for it and watching it greatly outweighs the movie itself. Oh sure, there are some great characters, great action beats and a dynamite ending, but for the most part, the story is intricate, the acting is dull, and the pacing sucks. Some of the dialogue, especially between Anakin and Padmé, is cringe-worthy.For my money this is the worst star wars Movies so far (albeit from 2019 Rise of Skywalker Currently running for its money).
Even so, this 20-year-old film still means the world to me. Not because of the movie itself, but because of what it represents in my life.Professionally, my excitement and anticipation Attack of the clones Set me a career path that I have always followed. Personally, it’s even more confusing.My first kiss to the woman who ended up being my wife, love theme Attack of the clones, “Across the Stars” by John Williams, shuffled on the radio (an old XM station called CineMagic, in case you were wondering). When we kissed, I thought, “Wow, if we end up getting married, this would be a great story.” When we got married 12 years later, after we announced as husband and wife, we played “Through the Stars.”
Never forget that cinema is art and art means different things to different people. Attack of the clones It’s not a great movie, but it holds a big place in my heart. It is a prism through which I can see my past, present and future. This is part of me. Padmé for my Anakin.
