Kathy Griffin was asked about Johnny Depp This week, called him an “orange, fat, bloated alcoholic.”
Griffin is Latest Celebrity Out to Support Amber Heard A jury in her defamation trial found she defamed her ex-husband.
In Hurd’s countersuit, Depp was found guilty of one count of defamation, but Backed by high profile celebrities since the beginning of the trial.
During the trial, both sides made allegations of violence against the other, all of which were consistently denied.
At the start of the June 2 conference call CNN On political analyst Brian Karim’s “Just Ask the Question” podcast, Karim asked Griffin her thoughts on the Depp-Heard trial.
Griffin said before the statement that she was “a friend of Amber Heard”, adding, “I totally trust her.”
As a woman and a feminist, the sentence was “very disturbing” for her, she said.
Referring to the testimony of several female witnesses and the pressure they may have felt to “change attitudes,” she said “no one wants to educate Kathy Griffin because I was removed and blacklisted. and many more.”
Griffin is referring to Infamous photo shows her holding model of Donald Trump’s severed headwhich led to her widespread criticism and attacks in the media.
There is no evidence that any of the women asked to speak on Depp’s behalf were coerced into making statements in support of Depp, or felt undue pressure to change past experiences.
Griffin then called the discussion around the trial a “social media carnage” and argued that #MeToo is not dead. She then casts her comedic eye on Depp’s status quo.
“I just thought Depp was disgusting,” she said. “You know what I find funny?” She continued:
These Johnny Depsteins are talking about the trial, but they refuse to show him the way he is, a big orange fat bloated wine bag. He looks like Donald Trump with a ponytail. So they kept supporting him and it was like, ‘Amber is beating Johnny! He is so gorgeous and dreamy! I thought, well, when Kanye’s jaws are wired, he talks like Kanye. His accent is like when Madonna became English. So, you know, who are we kidding here?
Kareem agreed that Depp’s newfound accent was suspicious.
“He’s a Kentucky boy, so every time I hear something from him, I say, ‘He didn’t learn to talk like that in Kentucky,'” Karem said.
“He learned it from his idol Keith Richards,” quipped Griffin.
She also ripped through the fans he waited outside the courtroom every day, saying: “And all the stuff he has outside, like his digital warriors. This is… this is a middle-aged man. It’s so pathetic. So, Anyway, I don’t…I don’t understand.”
The six-week trial between Depp and Heard shocked the world as it was broadcast live in court.
Depp posted in 2018 Washington post She co-authored with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). It is heard that Depp and his camp countersued $100 million over the statement she made.
The jury found Hurd guilty of defamation on all counts and ordered her to pay Depp $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages.
The jury also found Depp guilty of defamation over an article published by his colleague Adam Waldman on April 8, 2020. They ordered Depp to pay Hurd $2 million in damages.
