Johnny Depp’s lawyer claims Marilyn Manson’s video “rejects” Amber Heard’s allegations that she was abused by her ex-husband.
The testimony of Adam Waldman, who has worked on Mr Depp’s legal team since October 2016, was played in the former couple’s court on Thursday High-stakes defamation trial in Fairfax, Virginia.
Mr Waldman, who was at the centre of Ms Hurd’s counterclaim, which he called her abuse allegations “false” and a “hoax”, gave video testimony in February after being subpoenaed by Neptune’s legal team.
The lawyer, who was banned from Twitter for violating the privacy policy, insists he “saw the [Ms Heard’s] The statement is false”.
Mr. Waldman testified that he believed the photos and videos sent to him by rock star Mr. Manson helped to disprove Ms. Heard’s allegations of an alleged violence at Thanksgiving in 2013.
“As for that thing — Thanksgiving, maybe 2013 — I think these videos and photos disprove her claims,” he testified.
Mr Waldman appears to be referring to the 2015 Thanksgiving video which was played in Mr Depp’s UK defamation case sun Newspaper – he lost it.
In the UK case, the court showed footage of Mr Manson, Ms Heard’s father David and Mr Depp’s son Jack joking at a rally in Los Angeles.
In the video, Mr Manson jokes that Ms Heard’s father was a “monster” before David started chasing Jack.
Mr Depp’s legal team claimed in the UK case that the video showed “a happy family event” – thus casting doubt on Ms Heard’s version of events that day.
Ms Heard claimed the couple had an argument that day and Mr Depp tore her shirt, threw her across the room and threw glass at her.
Mr Waldman also cited several witnesses who testified that between 21 and 27 May 2016, they saw no scars on Ms Heard’s face.
Ms Heard claims Mr Depp abused her violently on May 21. The incident happened two days before she filed for divorce and six days before she filed for a domestic violence restraining order.
Mr Waldman had previously accused Ms Hurd of faking the scene of the night’s abuse, saying in a media interview in 2020 that it was “an ambush, a prank”.
Mr Waldman’s remarks accusing Ms Hurd of making up a “hoax” were the focus of Ms Hurd’s counterclaim in her defamation trial.
Mr Depp is suing his ex-wife for defamation over an op-ed she wrote in 2018 Washington post She describes herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse”.

However, Mr Depp claims this falsely implies he is a domestic abuser – which he vehemently denies – making it difficult for him to find roles in Hollywood. He is suing for $50 million.
Ms Hurd is countersuing for $100 million, accusing Mr Depp of orchestrating a “defamation campaign” against her and describing his lawsuit as a continuation of “abuse and harassment”.
Her defamation counterclaim was initially filed against Mr Waldman’s comments that he accused Ms Heard of lying about what she said was domestic violence at the hands of Mr Depp, calling her allegations “false”, “false” Sexual Violence Hoax” and “Ambush”.
Mr Waldman was later removed from Mr Depp’s legal team but is now back as his lawyer, according to reports.
Earlier, Mr Manson was mentioned in a defamation trial when Mr Depp testified that he had taken drugs with the rock star.
The Pirate actor told the court he once gave Mr Manson a pill so he wouldn’t talk more.
Meanwhile, Mr Manson has also sued his ex-girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood for defamation after she accused him of raping and abusing her in their relationship.
Ms Wood made the allegations last year. Several other women subsequently filed charges.
