Kourtney Kardashian’s Portofino Wedding in Italy

(CNN) — Too often, vacations in the sun lead to destination weddings, and it doesn’t look like Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Buck are any different from the rest of us.

The pair spent most of the summer of 2021 spending the sweet life in Italy, rafting on a yacht in Liguria, attending a fashion show in Venice, and packing a lot of PDAs in between. The PDA was quickly posted to Instagram.

It appears that their time in Portofino – during which Courtney took to her Instagram Stories to give her followers travel tips – made a real impression on them, as rumor has it The couple is coming back to get married. It could be this weekend, to be precise.

The couple – along with friends and family – were found back in Portofino today, TMZ report They will be married this weekend at Castro Brown, the castle that has launched a thousand postcards and sits on a cliff above the town.

A representative for Castello Brown did not respond to a request for comment, but the person who answered the call acknowledged that the castle, which is normally open to tourists, was closed this weekend for a “private event”.

The couple legally married a few days ago ahead of their destination wedding. They had previously held a fake wedding in Las Vegas.

An integral part of Portofino’s skyline, the castle bills itself as a “unique location” that can be rented for events and can be visited by the public during the day. The site is thought to have been fortified since Roman times, although the modern Castello Brown was a 19th-century renovation by the former British consulate, Montague Yeats-Brown.

Yeats Brown bought the castle in 1867, which had been abandoned for more than half a century after the fall of the Republic of Genoa. He turned it into a luxury villa suitable for celebrity weddings and transformed the former battery into a lush garden.

Today, weddings, civil ceremonies and meetings are held in the gardens, overlooking the port and village below.

Portofino has long been a favorite of expats looking for the sweet life – in fact, the entire Liguria region is a stop on the Grand Tour, with many Nordics, especially Brits (including Mary Shelley) in Home on the coast.

It’s been a Hollywood hotspot since the 1950s, and stars still flock here, often chartering yachts and staying at sea. Last summer, newly reunited Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck went ashore that day.

Today, the streets of what was once a simple fishing village are filled with designer shops and celebrities. Kardashian herself is a frequent visitor, recently posting retro photos from her 2019 and 2016 trips.

Italy is certainly one of the top destinations for celebrities looking to host a destination wedding. The Clooneys chose Venice, while Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel headed south to Puglia for their wedding. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes married in Lazio, while Courtney’s sister Kim married Kanye West in Florence in 2014.

Kardashian-Buck’s wedding, if confirmed, won’t be the first high-profile wedding in Portofino — and the couple will be delighted to hear that Ligurian celebrity weddings seem to be here to stay.

Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster wed here in 2007, renewing their vows 10 years later.

In 2008, Wayne and Colleen Rooney – currently at the centre of a forced “Wagatha Christie” defamation trial in the UK – married in nearby Santa Margherita Ligure.
